Jerkeez 876 started as a catering operation. People kept asking when there would be a permanent place, so we found one. We could have opened in London where there is a jerk shop on every corner. We chose Sevenoaks on purpose.

876 is the dialling code for Jamaica. It is in the name because it is in everything here, the seasoning, the music, and the welcome.

The unexpected side

A Jamaican kitchen
with an ice cream counter.

Our ice cream comes from Welsh Scoop, a long-established West Country ice cream maker. Four flavours: mango, coconut, rum and raisin, and soursop. Served by the scoop, on crepes and waffles, or alongside a Jamaican banana cake.

Germaine is also barista trained, so you can finish with a flat white, a cappuccino, or a mocha. A Caribbean restaurant with a proper coffee and ice cream counter is unusual in Sevenoaks. That is the point.
